My application!
Out Of Character
What is your average total play time on our server?: My first day, but a good impression overall.
What makes you want to join the force?: I think I'd help out the city a lot, both in OOC and IC manners, with help of med RP. I am very good at passive RP'ing and don't mind when it's 'boring', but when action takes place, I take it very seriously, and approach the situation realistically - at an RP'ers point, be it play-to-loose or RP to shoot.
Have you been on the MPF force on any other server? If so, what rank did you reach?: Yes, I have, plenty of times. And the highest is perhaps playing an Overlord Combine God. If that counts.
What is your experience on HL2RP as a whole?: This month I got 10 years now, and counting.
15 line RP example as a CCA unit.
In-Character
Name: Ekaterina Irvanenko Kolvik
Age: 38
In-Game Description: A small, yet compact woman of Eurasian descent, Slavic origin. Her pale face is apathetic, with rough skin, light gray eyes and feathered dark hair. She'd appear younger, but most likely in her middle ages. The clothing is old and worn out, dirty and ragged - showing she's been in places. Her build is surprisingly above average, and somewhat fit, for such conditions. If she speaks, her voice is quiet and calming, a bit chilly, with an Eastern-European accent - most likely Serbian.
Concise Backstory (2 paragraphs, 4 lines each):
Motivation For Joining: IC great medical knowledge to join a HELIX/APEX unit, to preserve family cohesion, gain all the benefits to support herself and her younger brother and, in the end, due to desperation.

15 line RP example as a CCA unit.
- RP example (Short, but detailed):
- ** CP:XRAY-6 lifts his sub-machine gun, pointing the barrel of the weapon to the man in-front of him - pointing it at his torso. Afterwards, speaks out in his distorted voice into his radio: "Contact with 2-4-3 suspect. My 10-20 is workforce-intake."
** jon smith gives off a distressed expression, throwing his hands into the air above his head, slouching in posture.
** CP:XRAY-6 slowly advances, walking up to the surrendering citizen, and once in range, lifts his sub-machine gun up, pulling it backwards and then pushes it forward, ramming the barrel in a jabbing motion against the citizen's trachea, giving a painful stunning and winding effect (If it succeeded)
** jon smith is struck in the throat, throwing his hands over the area he was hit. Afterwards, collapses to the floor, falling backwards and slumping against the wall behind him. Then, after a few seconds of regaining his breath, stumbles to his knees, and once again throws his hands up in the air.
** CP:XRAY-6 takes a step backwards, putting some distance between the two. He's keep the sub-machine gun pointed at his torso, and holds the pose. After several seconds, his radio would beep on, and a feminine-robotic voice would speak out: "Suspect is judged malignant. Verdict code is: Disassociation from the civic populace", then beep again, and shut off. And if the citizen was still in his position on the ground, would squeeze the trigger, firing a rapid burst at the citizen's chest.
** jon smith is shot; three bullets striking him in the chest, he'd let out a loud grunt before tumbling backward and collapsing to the ground - laying there motionless, dying within seconds...
** CP:XRAY-6 Holds the pose, keeping the weapon pointed at the citizen who was just shot, and after ten seconds or so relaxes his posture, pointing the weapon down. He'd stay silent for another several seconds before speaking into his radio: "Protection complete. Classify subject as 'DB'.", and then a reply would come, in the other feminine robotic voice: "Reward notice: Protection team member, your family cohesion is preserved...".

- Full backstory:
- Ekaterina, or Katya for short was born and raised in the former Republic of Yugoslavia in Serbia, Belgrade on the 1976 October 8th. Her family consisted of; her loving Mother, Cveta. Her dad, Kolya and her younger brother Mishka. Her parents were middle class, her mother working as a nurse and her father without a job, due to being an amputee being a former Serbian soldier who served in the Ten-Day War of 1991. Because of that, her mother had to work very had, sometimes doing night shifts, while her father was struggling being jobless. Thankfully, education was free and she could go to school normally, same with her brother. She doesn't like to admit, but her father was an alcoholic who would always go home drunk, sometimes it escelating into domestic violence. As much as she loved her father, she hated him at the same time. But Katya also realized that it wasn't him, that was drunk. On one night, he came home after drinking way too much. He woke the whole house up, and demanded food screaming like a maniac. Since they lived in an apartment at the time, the neighbors would wake up and be by the doorstep, trying to figure out what is going on. Katya didn't see what happened, because she was trying to help her smaller brother who was crying, calming him down, but Kolya pulled a knife on her, almost killing her mother. Thankfully, the neighbors were able to stop him after the first blow, and the militsiya (Police) were involved. He was taken in, and her mother was in the hospital. Since she was a nurse, she was able to help herself a bit on-scene, but overall was in a bad shape. Cveta had enough of this, and decided to take her kids back to where she was born, back to Bosnia. As much as Katya didin't want to leave her friends and her life behind, she would have to, when she grew up she'd understand. So they moved to Sarajevo, her being 13 at the time, and her brother 9 back to the house where her mother was raised, with her grandmother and grandfather (Mother's side). At that point, thing must have to start improving...
She was still young at the time, only 15, but she was very interested in history and always watching the news, especially politics. On Febrary 29th of 1992 the TV would play the news, Bosnia and Herzegovina declare independence from Yugoslavia. There were some fireworks outside,
and people cheering, but not for long. Meanwhile, Katya had time to make some new friends and adjust to the new life in another country. She was made fun of her accent at first, being Serbian, but with time it was alright. Her mother found a job at the local hospital which payed her slightly more than previously, and life was good. Katya also would continue communications with her father through mail. He kept telling them all that he finally quit drinking and is doing rehab, but in reality they all knew that it isn't true, him most likely hiding the bottles of vodka under the couch, not being the most original one. Even thought, she still loved him as a father very much. Things were finally getting back to normal, until in April, the news began with horror showing images of Bosnian Serbs arming themselves, and tanks rolling down the streets. By the 5th of April, the siege of Sarajevo has begun. The apartment had a bunker made back in world war II that was good for shelling attacks. Some people tried to flee the city, while other refugees instead would go into the city since there was nowhere else to run. Katya doesn't remember much of those days, still dealing with Posttraumatic stress disorder to this day, but each time she goes to sleep, daily nightmares would always occur. Her mother, since she was a nurse was mostly working in the hospital, in exchange for food and supplies. The artillery and mortars were told not to target hospitals and other targets like that, until the rebels took over the hospital forcing all the doctors to treat the insurgents. They had no choice, and applied. After that, the mortar teams began firing on the hospital during the day. Katya still remembers the day before she last saw her mother, her smiling and giving her a kiss, before leaving during the night to the hospital. That would be the last time. Her grandmother and grandfather were the only ones to take care of her, but they were too old so Katya had to get things into her own hands. Being the older sister, she'd head out during the night and loot through abandoned buildings, sometimes begging for food from those who had it. Sometimes she would visit the hospital in which her mother worked at, trying to find her body or at least something. There was a desk designated to her on the second floor, it being ravaged by bandits and rebels just like the whole place. Only thing inside would be a family picture they took in front of the Fountain in the capital during the summer time, when times were good.
The siege would feel as if it was going on forever. The radio kept telling help is coming, saying that NATO is going to be involved, sometimes the UN doing air drops, which were pointless since the rebels just took them for themselves, which is why all supplies stopped. The military in the city was greatly outnumbered, but they had the firepower. Meanwhile the rebels had the numbers, but were mostly using Soviet era weaponary such as AKs and so on, some rogues were able to capture tanks, even. Either way, things were getting worse from day to day. As time went on, looting and banditry would intensify. She was mugged twice this month with a weapon, forced to give out the stuff she found. Sometimes she'd have to return back to the bunker with nothing. Of course, her small brother was her number one priority, then her grandma and grandpa and only then herself. Even thought, they insisted that she ate sometimes first anyways. The siege would be a full year in, but things weren't getting any better as the news and radio claimed it should be. Then on one day, their bunker was raided. There was nothing they could do, the bandits were very well armed, while Katya and the residence were defenseless. They took /everything/. She knew this was the end if she did not do something, so she tried. She spoke with the bandit that appeared to be the leader right before they were going to leave. He asked if they could join them, to which he was surprised and laughed it off. Katya thought quickly, and then told to him that she has medical training, because her mother was a nurse and that she could be of great help. The rebels being desperate at the time, the man would think about it, and then say she could, on one condition. That she leaves the "old ones" behind. Katya was horrified, not knowing what to think or say, but her grandmother even thought did not want them to go with the not trustworthy looking people, she still knew this may be the only chance to survive they got. She simply gave her a silent nod, and that is all he need. "Grab the kid, take this bag and let's go. Follow my step by step, and do exactly as I say, or you may be shot by one of our snipers". And so they walked.
She didn't exactly expect what she saw. The group was taken to an old storage facility south of the town where they used to make cars. The floor was full of sleeping bags with people all over, it was hard to even walk without stumbling onto someone. "Tomorrow, you will begin work" the man said as they walked past groups of people. Judging by the condition that most people were in, most injured, sick or both she knew it was going to be a lot of work, meaning rest was necessary. "What about my brother?" she asked as they walked downstairs, probably the other room. "He'll help around, such as cleaning the floors or something like that". As much as Katya didn't like what was going on, this was the only real chance they had. There was shelter, a roof over their head and daily food, meaning it was good enough. The work was very hard, she didn't really knew what to do, but there was another doctor present who taught her the basics, doctor Philipov. It took time to recognize him, because of the pale look, bags under his eyes and just simply depressed, but it was the old teacher back from the new school. Surprised to see her, not sure if he was happy to see Katya in this type of place or not, he would teach her either way, because if she was useless in a place like this, she would be kicked out. Or worse. Philip being a skilled surgeon showed her the ways, Katyas skills getting better with each day. Yes, she did do mistake at times, but the rebels desperatly needed doctors and nurses to treat them, so even a rookie amateur would do. Her brother Misha would clean around the place and help with the dishes, helping around the warehouse with hard work to gain his place in here and the respect of the superiors, so that he gets to stay. These were horrible conditions and she saw many die in her hands, but that was life at the time. But thankfully, not forever.
29 February 1996, that date will remember anyone who is a survivor of the siege. The siege was lifted after the Dayton Peace Agreement, and major civilian evacuations would begin. Katya and her brother would finally get to leave the city as U.N. and the Red Cross foundation begin work. Thing is, she didn't know what to do now. Thing is, she was 20 year old by the time the war finally ended, and legally could do whatever. So, she decided to go back home to Serbia, Belgrade to her father. But, she was struck with hard news. When she rode the elevator to the floor where they lived at, and knocked on the door there was no answer. She would then try to use the keys she had, but the lock was changed. After knocking on the neighbors door to find out what is going on, her mothers old friend Ludmila would open the door and burst out crying going for a hug, praising god. "We thought you were dead!" She'd cry out. But when she asked where her father was, Ludmila would tell her to sit down so she can explain. "He went missing a while ago. Back in April, after the news about the capital? He just went missing, no one saw him for a long time". Katya would be in shock. This meant that every single family member but her and Misha were either dead, or missing. "The police changed the lock on the door so that no one breaks in, but technically now you legally own the apartment". As much as she didn't care about the apartment, she still had to get the official legal papers that she now owns it, since she can't be homeless. The misery was finally over. They were home, and Misha was safe. That is all she wanted, was for her small brother to survive. Katya was in therapy for a long time, because of what she has been through. But as much as she couldn't let go, she had to move on with life. Choosing the same career as her mother, she would study in University to become a doctor, and because of what Philipov has told her back in the warehouse, and pure determination she would graduate with a red diploma and become a qualified doctor. Katya would also decide to work in the same hospital, in the one where her mother used to work. After all of this, things began going back to normal. There was no worry, no more crying, no more days in a cold dark corner without food for days...
On one day, the portal storms came, thought. And everything changed.
Motivation For Joining: IC great medical knowledge to join a HELIX/APEX unit, to preserve family cohesion, gain all the benefits to support herself and her younger brother and, in the end, due to desperation.
Re: My application!
I don't see a reason present for the current poll.
In any case, I'd like to see you on the server some more before I make any commitments but the roleplay example seems promising.

Re: My application!
Yeah, I understand, just timezone limitations don't make it possible, that is all.
Re: My application!
Indeed. No need for a poll, and I agree with Advocate here.
I'd love to see you more on the server.
However, your application is well done.

Poll's already been said; won't bring it up. RP example is good; backstory, above and beyond A+ There. All in all I see no problems with your application. +support
