How long have you been a member of Orion Roleplay for?

Since Tuesday, July 5th. It's been about a week now, it's been really fun.

What is your average total play time?

When I started, I had 806 hours. I haven't played anything else since joining, and I currently have 836 hours, so I've been playing for 30 hours. Nearly full-time work hours, considering it's my seventh day and I plan on being on a while today. : ]

Have you taken up a staff position on any other sever? If so, what server, what position, and for how long?

I used to be a staff member on a couple of GMod servers-- mostly just low-key stuff like moderation. Most of my admin experience comes from trying to run my own server a while ago, which stopped mostly due to it not being worth the money I was putting into it, as well as servers on Minecraft, CS:S, and other games.

Why do you want to undergo service for this server?

I want to spend my time on the server balancing play and staff duty because I would like to be able to assist people by facilitating rp, helping to stop destructive behavior before it becomes a major problem, and by being a professional and friendly member willing to listen to people's issues.

Do you have a recommendation from any current staff member?

I don't know whether what's been said to me so far counts as a recommendation, but as far as I'm aware, I seem to be seen favorably for the most part, at least as a player.

How much experience in HL2:RP do you have?

As I mentioned in my CCA application, ~700 hours or so.

Why did you leave your last dedicated server?

The last dedicated server I played on was my own server, which I had to pull the plug on because of financial and playerbase issues for the most part. There were a couple other issues-- no truly reliable staff, I was the only coder and I couldn't really code, I only had one other staff member at the end, with the playerbase limited to 18 players (peak players during the day was often 6-10). It was a good learning experience, but I was pretty disheartened by it, and decided to take a break before investing so much of my time and self in a server again, whether I owned it or not. I ended up forgetting about GMod for a while, and then came back to it recently, and found Orion a couple days afterward. It's infinitely easier to just be staff on a server than to try to run it, that's for sure.

As a footnote, I'd like to mention the weaknesses I'm aware of in staff member capacity. While I'm very good interpersonally, and like to be helpful, I'm also a bit of a liability in one regard. I've never outright abused my powers, but if there's a big break of immersion in which everyone goofs off in OOC (moreso outside of OOC chat), I tend to have issues identifying when the silliness should stop unless someone outright says something to me. This can lead to some irritation on all sides because I usually only get told personally if I'm out of bounds and people are ticked off with me. Additionally, mingery can tick me off a little easier than others when actual RP is being attempted, especially when it's a repeat offense in a short amount of time. Aside from that, I'm usually pretty professional, and when I'm acting in a professional capacity I do more to ensure that I avoid the situations that would make problems for me, such as asking someone else to handle it.

Well, that's about everything I can think of right now. With any luck, it's enough information to make an informed decision about whether or not I'd be a good thing for Orion.
